“Wisdom and compassion should become the dominating influences that guide our thoughts, our words and our actions.” Matthieu Ricard

Karen Armstrong, a former Catholic nun, author of over twelve books on comparative religion, has spent her life studying all the world’s religions. She has found that compassion is the thread that runs through all of them. The “Season of Lights” is a time when many of the world’s major religions celebrate this Light within each heart.
In spite of these celebrations of spirit during the holidays, it can be a time of stress and loneliness for many. Join us as we come together in a spirit of love, community, and compassion. All faiths and no faiths are welcome.

This workshop will include:

  • A ‘Ritual of Forgiveness’
  • A Kriya for Self-Care
  • A Kriya for Compassion (This kriya includes some gentle moving, so please wear your yoga clothes and bring your yoga mat. Gentle movement and breathing will prepare our mind for the following meditation.)
  • Meditation for a Calm Heart (which includes specific mudras)
  • Performing the Beautiful Mahan Jaap

“I believe that to have world peace we must first have inner peace. Those who are naturally serene, at peace with themselves, will be open towards others. I think this is where the very foundation of universal peace lies.” – The 14th Dalai Lama

Mantra, meditation and mudras are powerful spiritual technologies that assist in rewiring your brain in powerful ways. Mantras are like a delete button for negative thoughts that help you protect your mind from limiting patterns and literally rewire your mind. Mantras can powerfully alter negative thinking and other limiting patterns of your mind and elevate your thoughts.

Man – tra
In Sanskrit, -man means mind and -tra means to protect.

Bring your yoga mat, your voice, your journal, and your intention to cultivate compassion for the benefit of all sentient beings.
